			The Community Health Center of Lubbock was founded in 1992 and has been serving underserved citizens from Lubbock, Crosby, Lynn, Terry, and Garza counties. This service area has been designated as a Medically Underserved Area and a Health Professional Shortage Area. Currently, CHCL has 5 different clinic locations. CHCL also operates a mobile medical and dental van. We have 147 employees. CHCL provides additional services such as health education, nutrition, transportation assistance, substance abuse and mental health counseling. Some of our partnering agencies include City of Lubbock, Texas Department of State Health Services, University Medical Center, Covenant Health System, Texas Tech Health Sciences Center, MHMR, Lubbock Independent School District, Catholic Family Service and Lutheran Social Services. Diabetes Support Group Meets last Tuesday of the month from 6-7:30 pm at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 1120 52nd St. Prenatal classes January 7th-28th- Prenatal classes in SMK from 10am-12noon Walking Club January 12th- Walking Club kick-off at Patterson Library, 1836 Parkway Drive, from 4:30-6 pm. Free event, health screenings, free pedometers and registration into walking club! Free Self-Management Diabetes classes January 13th- Free Self-Management Diabetes classes begin for 8 weeks at CHCL Main clinic, 1318 Broadway, 2nd floor SMK, from 10am-12noon! Diabetes Blitz January 22nd- Diabetes Blitz event held at 1318 Broadway from 8am-4pm. $15 for foot, eye, dental screenings and labwork. Lots of free information and prizes!
